I woke up on November 9th feeling scared, shocked, and restless. I was unable to accept the results of the 2016 United States Presidential Election and I was unwilling to let Trump’s negative effect on society become the new normal. I began this project by inviting anyone who feels marginalized by President-elect Trump’s agenda to let me take their picture. I posted this message on social media and spread it through word of mouth. In the past three weeks I went to an anti-Trump march in downtown Los Angeles, I met with law students at UCLA, I went to Trump towers in New York City and I visited small town Pennsylvania and in each place I took pictures. There was a sense of righteousness among the participants and I hope that, if nothing else, each of these people feel that their voices were heard. I hope that this project makes its subjects feel powerful.
